That is completely irrelevant. European cars have engines that are much more advanced than american engines, and they pollute less in every way measurable, so there’s no reason why they wouldnt pass the emission tests in US. The only reason why they might not pass is american government boycotting the sale of foreign cars, so that more american cars would be sold. And they do that already in many ways…trough false reliability statistics, false costumer satisfaction statistics, etc
